Making more than men - Letters to the editor - Letter to the Editor
Ebony, July, 2003 by Donnatta J. Clay
The article, "Women On Top: Making More Than Your Man" (May 2003), gave me a new outlook on relationships. I have always thought of the man as being the breadwinner and the woman as being the caregiver. Traditionally, women have been the backbone of the family--keeping everything running smoothly. The man has always been the one making the money. That seems not to be true anymore. We must realize that women aren't holding that traditional role any longer. More and more women are the breadwinners, making equal if not more than the men. Nikitta Foston showed me that relationships are more than giving and taking. They are about compromise, communication, and self-security.
