MAMIE TILL MOBLEY, the mother of Emmett Till, celebrates at the 1991 dedication of Emmett Till Road on Chicago's South Side. She is joined by Rosa Parks, Mayor Richard M. Daley and former Mayor Eugene Sawyer. The August 28,1955, lynching of Chicago teenager Emmett Till in Money, Miss., mobilized the Civil Rights Movement.

An all-White jury acquitted two White men of the horrific murder after only 67 minutes of deliberations. The U.S. Justice Department recently reopened the murder case.
