The New Black Father

Thank you for the article, "The New Black Father" (June 2007), which is a Father's Day tribute to a variety of fathers. We have always had nontraditional fathers in our community, including the stepfather, uncle, or cousin who offered advice and helped to keep us on the right track. They are our unsung heroes.
My brothers are extremely active fathers in their children's lives. One brother adopted two boys. My youngest brother is a single father, raising my phenomenal niece and nephew with their mother.
To all traditional and nontraditional fathers, keep up the good work.
