FOR CAR BUYERS
THE car of your dreams is in somebody's showroom somewhere among an array of models and styles.
The trend points toward comfort and safety -- and style. Convertibles, for example, are back by popular demand, and sporty, high-powered cars continue to be in vogue among young professionals.
Big sedans, on the other hand, offer roomy interiors and contoured, cockpit-style instrument panels with analog gauges. High-tech wizardry is flaunted on entertainment, too. Many domestic and foreign models come equipped with the latest in amplified sound systems, complete with compact disc players.
Your job is to find the dealer and the deal that's just right for you. When it comes to cars, there are colors and options to choose from, and, in addition, there are myraid offers to consider. Here are some tips to help you when buying that new car:
* Make sure the car you are buying is the one that fills your needs, fits your pocketbook and is not a dealer's choice.
* Decide on the car first and worry about the deal later.
* Read all the information you can get on the new models, then make a list of optional equipment and accessories you want for the make and model of your choice.
