Dru Hill: Baltimore's teen quartet razzles and dazzles with grown-up R&B style

Ebony, Feb, 1998 by Lynn Norment

What the members of Dru Hill want most is to fine-tune their vocal and musical talents and carve out a niche in the world of entertainment that will keep them in demand for many years to come. "We hope to make a big name for ourselves so that years and years from now people will continue to talk about Dru Hill, like they talk about the Temptations," says Woody.

Sisqo says he wants the group to continue to do the unexpected. "That's what people expect from Dru Hill," he adds. "At first, people said, `Well, they can sing, but can they sing and move at the same time?' And then when we did, they said, `But can they also produce and write?' And we said, `Yes!'"

The group hopes to record a Christmas album "one day soon," and in the meantime they are busy writing and producing for other artists and pondering music for their greatly anticipated follow-up recording. "We are just trying to do as much as we can while we are here," says Sisqo. "And then we'll go out like Michael Jordan -- while we are still on top!"
