AS CERTAINLY AS JANUARY means the arrival of seed and plant catalogs to awaken the winter weary gardener, February and March signal the onslaught of flower, garden and home shows that incite out imaginations with plans for the spring planting season that lies ahead.

This year FLOWER & GARDEN presents our largest Major Flower Shows listing ever, highlighting 56 shows taking place this spring. Notable entries include the return of the Chelsea America Flower Shows in south-central Florida and Southern California and the debut of the Cleveland Flower Festival, a nine-day event dedicated solely to horticulture and garden design. Also new to the listing is the San Francisco Landscape Garden Show, now in its ninth year, as well as shows in New York, Rhode Island, Michigan, Wisconsin, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
