Skin dilemma: breaking out a lot? Try a pro's solutions - Ask Anita - Brief Article

Dance Magazine, Dec, 2003

I'm taking more classes at the studio, and sweating a lot, and my skin's breaking out more. What can I do?

Remove sweaty clothing right away, wash with a non-soap skin cleanser (you could also use a mild exfoliating scrub or a loofha to help keep the dead skin cells from blocking the pores), and avoid wearing lotions.

I started performing this year and wearing stage makeup makes my face totally freak out. Then the remover I bought makes it get all dried out. Is there a better way?

Cold cream, a milky skin cleanser, or grapeseed oil would all work fine. Use either cotton squares or a very soft clean washcloth and go over your face a few times. If your skin's sensitive, use a mild soap-free cleanser. Use a non-alcohol based toner after cleansing, to balanced the skin pH.
