SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY last fall merged its music and dance departments under the direction of pianist Roger Woodward. Before joining SFSU, Woodward chaired the music department of the University of New England in New South Wales, Australia. SFSU's music department dates back to 1932. The dance department was formed in 1986.
