Preview: The Suzanne Farrell Ballet

Dance Magazine, June, 2007 by Sonja Kostich

Resident dance company of the Kennedy Center, the Suzanne Farrell Ballet hits the D.C. stage this month with two mixed repertory programs, including Scotch Symphony and Mozartiana. The company, under the legendary ballerina's direction, debuted in 2000 during the center's Balanchine Celebration.

They will premiere two reconstructed works as part of Farrell's Balanchine Preservation Initiative: the adagio from Concierto de Mozart and Divertimento Brillante. Farrell drew upon former collaborators to add to the program too. Maurice Bejart's scene d'amour from his 1966 Romeo and Juliet will be on the bill. June 6-10. See www.kennedycenter.org.
