ERRATA - Correction Notice

Business Economics, Jan, 2000

In the Statistics Producers' Corner from the October 1999 issue of Business economics, the following sentence was printed incorrectly:

"This is a useful concept applicable to time series with few actual contractions, except where it is difficult to track the growth cycle (cycles in deviations from trend) in real time because of problems with the estimation of the current trend."

It should have read:

"This is a useful concept applicab1e to time series with few actual contractions. It is particularly useful because for such series, it is hard to track the growth cycle (cycles in deviations from trend) in real time because of the difficulty of estimating the current trend."

Additionally, a figure was printed incorrectly. The corrected version appears below:

Business Economics regrets the error.
