Travel Notes

Covering nearly 21,000 square miles, Kenya's wildlife-rich Tsavo National Park is split into western and eastern sections by the busy Mombasa--Nairobi road and railroad. Attractions of Tsavo West include Mzima Springs (where visitors can observe hippos from underwater viewing hides) and the Chaimu volcanic crater. Tsavo East is a popular safari destination favored by photographers for its light and its views. Trail guides, lodgings, and campsites are available in both sections of the park.
