DESCRIPTION: MA concentration and postmaster's certificate in spirituality. This MA in pastoral ministry with a concentration in spirituality will form people as spiritual leaders and mentors in today's church. Two new courses have been developed: "Historical Sources for a Contemporary Spirituality" and "Contemporary Spiritual Classics." These courses will survey historical, modern and contemporary classics, examining the generative themes that are suggestive for our time and foundational in the construction of a contemporary spirituality. The post-master's certificate in the practice of spirituality is a summer program designed for persons experienced in ministry with an earned master's-level degree or the equivalent in a theological area. The purpose of the program is to enable pastoral leaders to become spiritual mentors for persons and for Christian communities of faith. DESCRIPTION: The master of arts in theology is a graduate program designed for those preparing for professional, religious or ministerial careers or as part of an enrichment program for those already established in such careers. Students may specialize in scripture, theology, pastoral ministry, liturgy or spirituality. The school offers fall, spring and summer study options; three- and six-week summer courses; and day and evening classes. A variety of workshops are being offered this summer in the fields of scripture, pastoral ministry and spirituality.
