"Walk Delaware." - New England
Parks & Recreation, Oct, 2002
"Walk Delaware" is a combined effort of the Delaware Division of Services for the Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities and Delaware Senior Olympians. The idea of the program is to have older adults log the distances they walk, the goal being to walk the width and length of Delaware (over an unlimited time).
The Senior Olympians have received a grant to implement this program in a variety of senior centers. The Senior Olympians act as role models in this program as they present the program to other seniors and adults with physical disabilities at senior centers, assisted living facilities and, in some cases, nursing homes.
