Recreation Center renaming
Parks & Recreation, Oct, 2005
The Hickory Hills Park District in Illinois honored former Executive Director Cynthia Neal by renaming the Kasey Meadow Recreation Center, the Cynthia Neal Administration and Recreation Center. Neal spent more than 30 years building, renovating and expanding the Hickory Hills Park District facilities and parks.
The dedication took place on Aug. 21, when the commissioners, employees, family members and friends celebrated the event with an unveiling of the new building sign, speeches from commissioners and employees, a tour of the remodeled multi-purpose room and a light lunch. The multi-purpose room remodeling project included a new wood dance floor, retiling of the vinyl floor, adjustable ballet bars, storage room and ceiling fans.
The Hickory Hills Park Board approved of the building name change in December after Cynthia retired in November of last year. The park will continue with the name Kasey Meadow Park.
