Skatepark giveaway at NRPA show in Denver - Erie, Colorado Wins - Skateparks International - Brief Article
Parks & Recreation, Jan, 2002
Skateparks International is pleased to announce that the town of Erie, Colorado has won a skatepark worth about $10,000 after park superintendent Ron Fletcher's card was drawn from a bowl during the 2001 NRPA Congress & Exposition in Denver. The skatepark contains a rail slide, rail double barrel, bankramp, quarterpipe, spine ramp and hump, and box ollie, and provides area skaters a welcomed place to skate.
The park is located at Coal Creek Park, on the east side of Erie. "I think it's really going to provide a good recreational opportunity that we don't have right now," says Fletcher. The community couldn't agree more and appreciates the city's initiative to put together the skate park promptly. Skateparks International has over 75 skateparks across the United States, with 16 in Colorado.
