Reimbursement resources - National Therapeutic Recreation Society
Parks & Recreation, Jan, 2003
In today's health care environment, there's an ever increasing pressure on containing costs while improving quality, thereby causing financial issues to become ever more complicated. Issues pertaining to financial reimbursement are complex subjects, as reimbursement policies vary from state to state and from facility to facility. The National Therapeutic Recreation Society has developed a section on NRPA's Web site (www.nrpa.org) to answer questions and provide information that may be useful in helping therapeutic recreation specialists understand finance and reimbursement issues in health care. Finance and reimbursement issues are constantly changing due to policy changes, regulations and the increasing role of managed care companies. This site will be one way you can keep current.
Direct all inquiries or comments to Brad Tunis, chair of the NTRS Health Care Finance and Reimbursement Committee, at btunis@childrens memorial.org or 773-975-8520. To access these resources from the NRPA home page, select "Branches," then "NTRS."
