NRPA launches community E-Newsletter - Tip-Off - Brief Article
Parks & Recreation, Feb, 2004
The beginning of the year unleashed a new face for the National Recreation and Park Association with the advent of" its Community Sports & Health E-Newsletter. Every month, the e-newsletter will feature resources and information to help park and recreation officials become more efficient, and expose them to new insights into the industry. "We look forward to a year of learning, sharing and achieving through parks and recreation," says Jennifer Hoyeh community outreach specialist and coordinator of the e-newsletter.
Some highlights of the e-newsletter include a breakdown of programs, partnerships and potential presentations such as the Hershey's Track and Field Youth Programs, which introduces children ages 9-14 to physical fitness through basic track and field events; SGMA Summer Fund Softball, which is designed to entice kids outside for co-ed softball games; Let's Play Sports, which is a youth sports program; Tennis Welcome Centers, which gives national attention to your tennis programs through an agreement with the United States Tennis Association; and many more programs aimed at all sports including golf, basketball and football.
"We welcome your suggestions and comments at any time, and encourage you to pass this resource on to others who may find it useful." To become a member of the Community Sports & Health Network, and receive this resource, e-mail programs@nrpa.org, or call the NRPA National Programs office at 703-858-2169.
