Government group recognized by area parks departments - Tip-Off - Brief Article

Staff from the National Center for Recreation and Conservation, which is a subsidiary of the National Park Service in charge of helping (through the distribution of grants and resources) local park organizations enhance their parks, revitalize nearby rivers, preserve valuable open space and develop trail and greenway networks, recently received their own acknowledgment from local organizations they have helped over the years.
* Margaret Watkins, who is part of the Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance (RTCA) program, recently received the "Tudor Richards Award" from the New Hampshire Audubon in recognition of her "tireless and effective efforts on behalf of conservation in New Hampshire."
* Mark Weaver, RTCA, received an award from America's Outdoors in November for his extensive involvement with Bureau of Land Management and United States Forest Service partners on the new America's Outdoors Center in Milwaukee, Wisc. * Joan Harn, Hydro program coordinator in Washington, D.C., was recognized by Hydro Review magazine with its author's award for her article, "What's New in Washington: Viewpoints of Agencies Involved with Hydro."
