HAMMOCK-TENT

The Clark Jungle Hammock is a three-season backpacking tent that hangs between two trees, eliminating the need for poles, air mattresses, and foam pads. Constructed from water-resistant nylon and nylon-mesh, the hammock sets up in less than five minutes. Large pockets sewn underneath the hammock provide storage space for gear and clothes as well as additional insulation. Lightweight, the tent supports up to 285 pounds.

SNOWSHOES

Springbrook introduces its Little Bear line of snowshoes. They weigh only 18 oz. each, come with a carrying sack, and fit nicely under truck seats or in the trunk. The one-piece polypropylene shoes have no moving parts, and a redesigned binding accommodates virtually any boot size. Unlike other designs, Little Bears have a solid platform, cupped edges, and double-duty bindings. They offer the same flotation as traditional snowshoes, including backward and sideways motion, and enable snowshoers to traverse terrain with up to a 45-degree slope. The line includes snowshoes specially manufactured for children -- Cubs for ages 3 to 5, and Grizzlies for 5 to 12.

PORTABLE GENERATOR

The Advanced Products Group of the Coleman Company announces a new portable generator, the UltiMite. Capable of producing 1,000 watts AC -- or 90 amps DC -- at full power, the UltiMite competes with many larger generators. However, at only 20 pounds, it leads the industry in delivering the maximum amount of power per pound. The UltiMite can jump-start stranded cars in sub-zero temperatures, or power the safe operation of a whole array of emergency equipment. The UltiMite's Robin engine operates for hundreds of hours before needing an overhaul, and two-stroke technology ensures plenty of power.
