Parks & Recreation, March, 2006

AT&T Inc., formerly SBC Communications Inc., announced that it has teamed up with the National Arbor Day Foundation for a "paperless" campaign that will eliminate paper usage and plant trees. For every residential and small business phone customer that switches from a paper bill to the online version, AT&T will donate $1 to the foundation to plant a tree in a national forest.

The promotion extends through March 31, with customers encouraged to participate for sweepstakes prizes, including a 2006 Toyota Prius hybrid car, gift cards to The Home Depot and trips to various resorts nationwide.

From July to November of 2005, the company helped plant nearly a quarter of a million trees, which the National Arbor Day Foundation says will absorb more than 2,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
