Call for 2004 nominations for the APRS awards

Parks & Recreation, April, 2004

The American Park and Recreation Society, a branch of NRPA, recognizes and honors individuals who have rendered significant service to the association, society and the field of parks and recreation. This year's APRS awards will be given at the APRS President's Reception and Award Ceremony at the 2004 NRPA Congress & Expo October 12-16 in Reno, Nev.

The David E. Clark Distinguished Professional Award is the highest citation the society can bestow on a member, and honors outstanding service and leadership. Nominees must be approved by a three-fourths vote of the APRS Board of Directors.

The Meritorious Service Awards were enacted by the society in 1977 to recognize other outstanding projects and careers of service that couldn't be recognized by the Distinguished Awards. They are awarded in four categories: young professional, new professional, professional and citizen.

Award applications are due June 4. More information on the awards, as well as applications, can be found at www.nrpa.org.
