Pennsylvania puts parks online

Parks & Recreation, April, 2006

If you want to make reservations at a campsite or park facility in Pennsylvania, venture no further than your home computer. Reservations are just a click away.

On Feb. 6, Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell unveiled a new online system for Pennsylvania State Parks, which allows for the online reservation of facilities.

"Our state parks are entering a new era in customer-focused, visitor-friendly access and one-stop shopping for information and reservations," Rendell said. "Many people now make their travel plans on the Internet, and this expansion enhances our efforts to highlight the boundless opportunities in our state parks, and makes it easier for visitors to get information and make reservations."

State park visitors can make arrangements up to 11 months in advance of their arrival.
