The National Recreation and Park Association is pleased to welcome its new Chief Operating Officer, Nathaniel O. Wilkins. He was also the National Chair for the Roundtable Associates, Inc. Nathaniel was formerly employed as assistant director for the Cincinnati Recreation Commission. He is a master strategist and community organizer who specializes in developing cutting-edge ideas, concepts and programs. Nathaniel draws upon a broad spectrum of expertise, as he has been directly involved with community and youth work for over 25 years. He is the creator and producer of such programs as the award-winning "Mayor's Night Hoops" and Mayor's Urban Symposium and Tournament in Kansas City.
Nathaniel has presented his innovative ideas and concepts to many different organizations and government agencies. He has hosted a weekly talk show, as well as authored numerous magazine and newspaper articles. Nathaniel serves on boards of nonprofits, foundations and museum associations. He was recognized as one of the Kansas City Globe's "100 Most Influential Citizens" in 1995 and 1996 and winner of the 2002 Williard Sutherland award.
