NRPA welcomes Tampa youth to Congress 2002 - NRPA Youth Services
Parks & Recreation, Sept, 2002
For the first time, NRPA's Office of Youth Services is inviting youth and youth workers from the Tampa area to attend Saturday's "jam'n youth only" session at NRPA's National Congress and Exposition. Congress is a perfect time to expose youth to the many opportunities that exist in the park and recreation field. During this session, youth will learn about local and national programs that they can participate in, focusing on leadership development workshops, job shadowing and workforce development opportunities in the park and recreation field, service projects and high-quality sports programs that promote healthy lifestyles. In addition, there will be information on colleges that offer recreation as a major. Members of NRPA's Student Branch will also attend to share their experiences regarding the recreation field. NRPA welcomes all youth and professional members to share in exploring the opportunities in park and recreation and to be a part of this journey.
