Message from NAB President Doug Brenner - National Aquatic Branch

Parks & Recreation, Sept, 2002

The March NRPA Aquatic Management School and Conference in Palm Springs was a great success. Each year, this management school and conference serves as the premier educational and training event for aquatic professionals. The information learned, ideas shared and friendships rekindled all enhance the recreation profession and provide direction on innovative ways to serve your community. Tom Werts and Farhad Madani did an outstanding job coordinating the program, while NRPA staffers Lili McGovern, Sue Krauser and Jennifer Miller did a super job managing the logistics for the school.

Be sure to attend next year's NRPA Aquatic Management School and Conference in Albuquerque, from March 6 to 12. Each year, the National Aquatic Branch awards a scholarship to an NRPA member in each of NRPA's regions. The scholarship covers the meeting registration, but not the hotel or travel. Applications will be available in the fall with a deadline of late November.

Do you have an aquatic program that you're proud of? Want to get the recognition you deserve? Apply for the Excellence in Aquatics Award this fall. The deadline is in November.

For more information, contact the NRPA Aquatics Office at 800-677-2236 or aquanrpa@aol.com.

National Aquatic Branch sessions at the NRPA Congress will include "What Do Aquatic Facilities Cost and Why?"
