Local delivery

Nation's Business, June, 1997 by Stephen Blakely

I live in a small, rural community near three large metropolitan areas, all of which are served by large package-delivery companies. I see a need locally for a small firm providing package-delivery, messenger, and courier services. How would I start this kind of business? WB., Hillsboro, Ohio

Try the Messenger Courier Association of the Americas in Washington, D.C.; (202) 785-3298. Keep in mind, however, that the organizations focus is more on helping established messenger and courier businesses improve their management and operations than on start-ups.
