Business owners and employees - Social Security Administration's World Wide Web services and address - Dateline: Washington - Brief Article

Nation's Business, August, 1996

Business owners and employees can now use the Internet to request records of their past earnings and estimates of their future Social Security benefits under a range of wage and retirement-age scenarios. After verifying that the request has been made by the beneficiary, the U.S. Social Security Administration sends the record by mail.

Individuals will soon have on-line access for viewing their records. (Records can still be obtained by completing a paper request form, which is available by calling 1-800-772-1213.) The Internet address of the Social Security Administration on the World Wide Web is http://www.ssa.gov.
