Back to school

Re: "The Back to School Boom," Mar./Apr. '08. After my husband died in 1989, I returned to school, enrolling in Boise State University. A veteran's educational allowance was helpful, but eventually finances were hitting rock bottom. A professor told me about BSU's senior citizen program, which helped me make it through the last two years needed for graduation.
Senior citizens' tuition for a semester was $25.00 and required an additional charge of $5.00 for each credit hour (at the time) for those aged 60 years and over. I was handed my Bachelor of Arts degree at age 62. Maybe other universities have a similar program.
