MALICANTI, Tarantelle e Canti Tradizionali delle Puglie, (Finisterre 32). This is very much the raw, traditional tarantella of southern Italy. By their own admission, Malicanti have added little in terms of arrangements, drawing on those wild elements, the letting go that's the essence of tarantella.
This is quite hardcore, and probably not for those just dipping their toes into the waters. But for those who have a taste for this music, it'll suck you in deep.
