Bob Dylan poems

Sing Out! The Folk Song Magazine, Autumn, 2008

Twenty-three long-unpublished Bob Dylan poems will be included in the upcoming book Hollywood Foto-Rhetoric: The Lost Manuscript. The poems were written in 1968 for the book, which features classic Hollywood photos by photographer Barry Feinstein. Feinstein is best known for shooting the cover of Dylan's 1963 album The Times They Are A-Changin', George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, Janis Joplin's Pearl, and many more famous music photos.

The long-unreleased book, which was originally planned over 40 years ago, pairs Dylan's poems next to shots of legendary movie stars, including Marion Brando. Two of the book's poems, called "#17" and "#21," recently appeared in The New Yorker magazine.
