1 Free agents. It's the NFL's world; we just live in it. I ask my wife for $20 last week. She slaps the franchise tag on me, and now I only get the average weekly allowance of the top five husbands on my block.

2 Barry Bonds. He has a skewed perception of reality. Some folks call it "Planet Barry," which in our solar system translates roughly into "Uranus."

3 Drew Bledsoe. Boy, America's Team has downsized its aspirations. The news release of his signing says he has a chance to be the next Danny White.

4 Spring. If you live up North, you're dying for signs that it's coming. Here are two: 1) Exhibition games started this week, and 2) Larry Walker has suffered his first injury.

5 The Combine. Is he smart enough to be your No. 1 pick? Put it this way: I asked what he thought of the Wonderlic, and he said, "Dude, I don't watch porno."
