Your turn

Sporting News, The,  March 18, 2005  by Tony Duca,  Paul Savard, Jr.,  Larry Moore,  Thairs R. Capps

* There was a time when John Chaney represented all that was good about college basketball. Now, he represents all that is bad with it. To make the incident more disgraceful is that it happened against one of the classiest coaches in college basketball, Phil Martelli.--Tony Duca, Turnersville, N.J.

* In the aftermath of steroids allegations, Ken Rosenthal (TSN, February 25) says the Red Sox's Jim Rice is a player who "never has looked so good" for Hall of Fame consideration. I hope Rosenthal votes for him. Rice was dominant from 1975 to '86; in those seasons. he averaged 29 homers and 106 RBIs and had a .304 batting average. Rice belongs in the Hall.--Paul Savard Jr., Waterford, Vt.

* Great job by Ken Morrow and Kara Yorio with the Miracle on Ice pieces (TSN, February 25). The U.S. had a team of college players and still beat the Russians, the best hockey team in the world. That's like foreign football players coming over and beating the New England Patnots.--Larry Moore, Atlanta

* Pat Tillman gave his career and life for his country. Louisville linebacker Robert McCune delayed starting his promising career to serve in the Army. McCune's story should be told, too. Let the people know you support our heroes.--Thairs R. Capps, Pinetops, N.C.
