Bob Hille's starting 5

Sporting News, The, March 25, 2005

1 The NCAA Tournament. I got in trouble for copying blank brackets on the office machine because of the boss' crackdown, which ironically is how Hal in accounting uses the same copier: crack down.

2 Rick Ankiel. An outfielder with a career .226 batting average? That can mean only one thing: The Devil Rays suddenly are verrry interested.

3 The NBA. Teams are maneuvering for playoff positions, but frankly I was distracted by the people watching at the arena. The beer guy in my section? It was Chris Chelios.

4 Mike Tice. I feel bad for him. He came to depend on that bump in income, because Lord knows the Vikings aren't ever actually in the Super Bowl.

5 Congress. It's holding hearings on baseball and steroids, and I'm thinking, "Perfect ... the one group that year in and year out has proved it isn't interested in performance enhancement."
