Topic: RSS FeedHear a different game

Taylor Spink, the crusty publisher of THE SPORTING NEWS for nearly five decades, apparently didn't think highly of a newfangled form of communication called radio. "Mr. Radio is going to butt into the business of telling the world all about the ball game," TSN reported in 1922.
Suffice it to say, times change. As of last week, THE SPORTING NEWS Radio Network was on the air, converted from what had been the popular and successful One-on-One Sports Network It is the next step in turning what had been just a magazine company into a fully integrated media company. How does that affect you? Well, if you had listened to a TSN Radio Network affiliate during the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament, you could have heard commentary from senior writer Mike DeCourcy and host Peter Brown as the first two rounds were played. You also could have read Mike's reporting at our website (sportingnews.com) and his analysis in our magazine.
It's not THE SPORTING NEWS that Taylor Spink knew, but it's the right company for today.
"Introducing THE SPORTING NEWS Radio Network is more than a mere name change," says Chris Brennan, who was the CEO of One-on-One and will continue to run the network under its new banner. "It is affirmation that we are a full-fledged media partner of our sister publication and ready to move the brand forward across the radio platform by providing the finest sports coverage in the nation."
That is all we want to do: bring you the best coverage anywhere. You can read TSN radio personalities in this magazine and at our website, just as you can hear TSN writers on the radio. We want to provide the information any way you want it And we hope you find this new part of our family every bit as engaging as our 115-year-old magazine.
