The Saints can't afford to be patient

Devery Henderson needs to have a big offseason, particularly because the Saints released Jerome Pathon to open up playing time for Henderson as the third receiver. Henderson has great potential but struggled to adjust to the pro game as a rookie in 2004. He might be the fastest player on the roster, but his playing time will depend on his ability to master the playbook and catch the ball.

Henderson's hands were the main knock on him coming out of LSU, and he struggled with dropped passes in practice and exhibition games last year. But he also showed explosive big-play ability, routinely beating defenders on deep balls.
