I'll share in the blame. I won't take as much as Barry B*nds (or any of the other juicers), Selig, Conte or the numerous trainers, managers, owners, teammates and competitors should, but I'll take some nonetheless. Baseball needed something after the strike in 1994. Baseball fans needed something, too. Along came 1998. McGwire and Sosa. Homers galore. Baseball was back. I must admit that I was among those who started to care more about baseball again during that year.

Baseball records mean nothing to me anymore. I grew up with Nolan Ryan as my favorite player, and I thought that most of his records would stand forever, but now I know that it's only a matter of time before they are all destroyed like the unreachable home run record will be.

Forget Reggie Bush. Matt Leinart, get outta here. Vince Young, take a hike. If I were running the Houston Texans, my attention would be on a new prospect named Naomi Campbell! What a great arm! How many people can hit their maid in the back of the head from some distance away with a Blackberry? I wonder what her 40 time is.
