* As long as Ohio State and Tennessee win out, they will secure the top two spots in the Bowl Championship Series poll. The Volunteers are buoyed by a strong strength-of-schedule factor. The Buckeyes' strength-of-schedule quotient isn't as solid. But Ohio State's standing in the polls and perfect record will be enough to overcome this.
* Speaking of the BCS, one of the top four teams--UCLA, Ohio State, Tennessee, Kansas State--will lose down the stretch. While the Buckeyes, whose toughest remaining game is November 21 against Michigan, and Volunteers, whose biggest test is November 14 against Arkansas, figure to win out, UCLA and Kansas State won't be as lucky.

* Oregon will lose at least one more game as it struggles to discover a running attack. Since Reuben Droughns broke his ankle in a loss at UCLA on October 17, the Ducks have averaged 113.5 yards rushing. In its last three contests, Oregon hosts Washington and Arizona State and travels to Oregon State.
* If Iowa coach Hayden Fry looks to step down after this season, the top candidates for the job will be Chuck Long, a former Hawkeye quarter-backing hero, and Florida defensive coordinator Bob Stoops, also an Iowa graduate. If Stoops were hired, he might bring his brother, Mike--Kansas State's defensive coordinator--with him to Iowa City.
