A new rivalry could be brewing in the A.L. Central between the Twins and White Sox, who start a three-game series Friday. Before the season, White Sox closer Billy Koch (who moved over from the A's) was skeptical of Minnesota's 2002 success, and the two teams brawled in late April In Chicago. Six hitters were plunked in the first two games of that series, and three players were ejected....

Baseball's best rivalry will have special significance this time around. Roger Clemens, Public Enemy No. 1 in Beantown, is closing in on win No. 300. The Yankees begin a three-game series against the Red Sox on Monday at Fenway, and Clemens is scheduled to pitch on Wednesday.... The Astros, finally over their early-season struggles, kick off a tough nine-game homestand Friday with three games against the Phillies. Then the Cardinals and Cubs come in for three each. In one week, Houston will face Kevin Millwood, Matt Morris and Kerry Wood.
