Keep an eye on these rising young stars:

Josh Barfield, 2B, Padres (A). The 20-year-old son of former major league outfielder Jesse Barfield is dominating the California League (.355, 42 RBIs in his first 39 games).

Macay McBride, LHP, Braves (A). In his first eight starts in the Carolina League, McBride was 3-1 with a 1.91 ERA. He struck out 49 in 42 1/3 innings.

Vince Perkins, RHP, Blue Jays (A). Perkins was 3-1 with a 1.83 ERA in his first eight starts in the South Atlantic League, allowing just 19 hits and striking out 60 in 44 1/3 innings.

Joel Zumaya, RHP, Tigers (A). Zumaya, 18, was 2-1 with a 2.12 ERA in his first seven starts in the Midwest League, yielding 19 hits and striking out 59 in 34 innings.
