The fields are alive with the sound of music: a CD showcasing the musical talents of major leaguers? Puh-lease. But—surprise—"Oh Say Can You Sing?" isn't half bad

Sporting News, The,  June 24, 2005  by Corrie Anderson,  Katie Koss

Other notable performances

[thumps up] Ozzie Smith sings Sam Cooke's "Cupid" Not to give Nikko a complex, but his dad's better at the singing stuff, too.

[thumps up] Ben Broussard sings and plays guitar to U2's "With or Without You" lie's a legitimate talent who's putting out his own CD this summer.

[thumps up] Matt Ginter plays the banjo and sings backup to The Dillards' "Dooley" As a bluegrass song, it's a departure from the rest of the tracks on the CD. But Ginter and his brother David, who is the lead vocalist and plays the guitar, are an impressive team.

[thumps up] Aubrey Huff sings "Letters from Home" No disrespect to John Michael Montgomery, but we like Huff's less twangy version even better than the original.

[thumps down] Omar Vizquel sings and plays the drums to the Goo Goo Dolls' "Broadway" Ever heard Saturday Night Live's Horatio Sanz do Saddam Hussein?
