Padres' Bochy will sit out this race

With 11 candidates already signed up to run for mayor of San Diego, three Padres fans decided it wouldn't hurt to add another: Padres manager Bruce Bochy. The three have set up BochyforMayor.com, complete with a way to order "Bochy for Mayor" T-shirts and caps. The site also has imaginary interviews.

(Question: What can be done about San Diego's homeless problem? Bochy: Build another stadium.) Bochy, for some reason, says he's too busy to run in the July 26 election. "Besides, I live in (nearby) Poway," he told the San Diego Union-Tribune. Bochy does see the similarities of his job with being mayor. "People are looking over your shoulder at any move you make," he told the newspaper.
