David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez are like Mantle and Maris--the best 1-2 punch in baseball right now. They're even better than Vladimir Guerrero and Garret Anderson. They're both good hitters and 40-homer guys.... I don't know if Mark Prior is 100 percent back. I think his past elbow problem caused some issues with his breaking ball.

I'd like to see him pitch inside more... Ryan Howard, the Phillies first baseman, is not going to light you up right away. It's going to take him a while. He hits a lot of balls to the opposite field.... Zach Duke, the rookie lefthander with the Pirates, is going to be very good. He's not overpowering, but he can pitch and his stuff is good--a 9:1- to 93-mph fastball, above-average changeup, above-average control.... I'm concerned that Richie Sexson may still be hurt. He had shoulder surgery last year, and he's cutting off his swing to the extreme.... Joel Pineiro still looks hurt to me. He's topping out at 90, pitching at 87 to 88. Not good.... Braves rookie Jeff Francoeur has issues with his swing. He bails on every pitch. But he centers the ball and makes really hard contact. And he can play the outfield.
