Battier trumps Parker

With all due respect to Spurs guard Tony Parker (TSN, December 24), the NBA Rookie of the Year should be Shane Battier of the Grizzlies.

Battier is playing 40 minutes per game, averaging 15 points and is a major contributor on offense and defense. In addition, his leadership qualities are outstanding.
