ON AIR BALL

A calendar of events

January

12 Kansas at UCLA, 3 p.m. ET, CBS
Saturday
Ball State prevented these teams from meeting in Maui.
KU's Drew Gooden gets to show off in his home state.

Stanford at Oregon, 6 p.m. ET, Fox Sports Net

The Ducks, after drilling Arizona by 30 at home, lean on
McArthur Court again in an attempt to establish legitimacy.

13 Indiana at Iowa, 1 p.m. ET, CBS
Sunday
It will be even more fun when former Hoosier heroes
Steve Alford and Luke Recker visit Bloomington February 5.

St. Bonaventure at St. Joseph's, 2 p.m. ET, Comcast
            SportsNet

So far, SBU's J.R. Bremer and Marques Green have beer
better than SJU's Marvin O'Connor and Jameer Nelson.

14 Notre Dame at Syracuse, 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
Monday
Syracuse has Preston Shumpert and Deshaun Williams,
but can it contain ND's inside force, Ryan Humphrey?

Texas at Texas Tech, 9 p.m. ET, ESPN

Think the ESPN cameras will show Bob Knight a time or
two? Lubbock will be juiced for "Big Monday."

15 Kansas at Oklahoma State, 9 p.m. ET, ESPN Regional
Tuesday
These teams appear to be the class of the Big 12. KU
may need all three of its starting guards to slow Mo
            Baker.

Iowa at Illinois, 9:05 p.m. ET, ESPN

This is their only meeting, so it may be the Big Ten gain
of the year. Illinois' Frank Williams should haunt Iowa's
            PGs.

16 Alabama at Georgia, 8 p.m. ET, Jefferson Pilot
Wednesday
Alabama will be accepted as a legitimate power when it
regularly beats good SEC teams--like Georgia--on the road.

            DePaul at Cincinnati, 9 p.m. ET, ESPN2

Before the Blue Demons and Andre Brown are declared
legit, let's see how they fare against Cincy and Steve
            Logan.

17 Maryland at Duke, 9 p.m. ET, ESPN
Thursday
Composite score from last year: Duke 357, Maryland
            353. Terp Steve Blake defends Jason Williams superbly.

Southern California at Arizona, 10:30 p.m. ET, Fox Sports
            Net

Last February, the Wildcats humiliated the Trojans,
105-61. Think USC wants a little payback?
