On Tiger Woods not taking a stance on social issues

Sporting News, The, July 29, 2002 by James (Musician) Brown

"I don't begrudge an athlete's right ... if they don't want to become politically active or endorse a social cause or issue. if there's not the passion, if one is not well-informed on the topic, then I don't want them speaking for me or anyone else if they can do more hurt than good. However, those who choose to do so--if they're intelligent and well-informed--I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all."

James Brown can be heard 10 a.m.-noon ET weekdays.
