White Sox designated hitter/first baseman Paul Konerko's batting average in July. Considered the Dodgers' top prospect less than three years ago, he began this season with his third organization and, at 23, was the league's youngest journeyman. Konerko had a rough start for Chicago--hitting .203 in April--but has hit .320 in the past three months, including 12 homers, 31 RBIs and a .557 slugging percentage.

He had only 34 strikeouts in his first 267 at-bats.
