Burnett blocked out all of the trade rumors surrounding him, throwing 14 scoreless innings and striking out 12 in victories over the Giants and Nationals. And he didn't have to leave South Florida after all. Burnett's second victory of the week, a seven-inning performance against Washington, helped the Marlins extend their winning streak to four and keep pace in the N.L wild-card race.
