Your turn

* Kara Yorio is jumping on the bandwagon by naming Jarome Iginla hockey's best player (TSN, August 9). Iginla is good all over the ice, but Joe Sakic and Markus Naslund are underrated all-around players. And if Peter Forsberg could stay healthy, he'd be the best.

Zach Balside, Fort Collins, Colo.

* I take exception to your pick of Kansas City as the best sports city for the NFL (TSN, August 9). Granted, Chiefs fans are die-hards, but I will bet you all the bratwursts in Wisconsin there are not 62,000 of them on a season-ticket waiting list as there are for Packers season tickets and that 60,000 fans wouldn't attend an intrasquad scrimmage in Kansas City as Packers fans did on August 7. Come on, Wisconsin is home to the greatest NFL city--Green Bay!

Kevin Konopasi, Sun Prairie, Wis.

* One problem with your list of best sports cities: Baton Rouge, La., as the best college football town. What were you thinking? It's Ann Arbor, Mich.! Three words come to mind when you think of Michigan football: The Big House. I think 107,000-plus fans on a fall Saturday would agree with me.

Brandon Porterfield, Midland, Mich.

* Having moved from New York to Maine, I have witnessed Boston to be the worst--not the best--sports city. Boston fans spend more energy hating the Yankees than rooting for their own teams. Some examples: radio D.J.'s telling people attending the Patriots' Super Bowl parade to bring their "Yankees Suck" posters; old ladies at the supermarket harassing children for wearing Yankees caps. Let's try some sportsmanship, Boston.

Michael Mainella, Falmouth, Maine

* In Dave Kindred's column (TSN, August 9), he implies George Bush is a better candidate than John Kerry because he can "outpitch" him. If this is a concern to Kindred, let me suggest he hurry down to Cuba--I believe Fidel can still snap off pretty good pitches.

Bob White, Shaker Heights, Ohio
