Judgment call
Sporting News, The, Sept 2, 2005 by Larry Goldstein
LaDainian Tomlinson and Peyton Manning aside, there are no sure things in fantasy football. In your draft, you'll be faced with multiple decisions on evenly matched players. Three examples:
LaMont Jordan vs. Steven Jackson
On the docket: LaMont Jordan vs. Steven Jackson.
Arguments: Despite being in Curtis Martin's shadow in New York, Jordan still proved capable of being a reliable back. Jackson proved he was a workhorse with two 100-yard games down the stretch last year, but he'll still have Marshall Faulk lurking around.
Verdict: Jordan. Power-running guru Norv Turner will get Jordan the ball 25-plus times per game.

On the docket: Tom Brady vs. Carson Palmer.
Arguments: Brady's stats the past four years get far too little respect. Palmer suffered growing pains last season, but he threw nine touchdown passes in three games before a knee injury in Week 14.
Verdict: Palmer. Look for the Palmer-Chad Johnson duo to benefit from a favorable schedule that includes some weak defenses in the AFC South and NFC North.
Javon Walker vs. Andre Johnson
On the docket: Javon Walker vs. Andre Johnson.
Arguments: Walker remains Green Bay's big-play threat. Johnson has amassed 145 receptions in his first two years, and the buzz from camp is that the Texans plan to run shorter mutes to get Johnson more touches.
Verdict: Johnson. The third season is often when wide receivers sink or swim, and Johnson will make a splash.
