Your turn

'Rafael Palmeiro in the Hall of Fame? I think not, if for no other reason than he screwed up my fantasy team.--Si Korot, Reseda, Calif.'

* Reggie Jackson's comments concerning steroids (TSN, August 26) were right on. If baseball leadership is serious about addressing this issue, it could do no better than to ask Jackson for help. His desire, credentials and love for the game speak for themselves.

--Richard Trivitt, Saugas, Calif.

* I find Reggie Jackson's tirade against steroids quite curious. Is Reggie that concerned about the game's integrity? Based on his self-serving personality, I doubt it. I think Reggie is attacking today's players and their records only to preserve his own records.

--George Zbravos, Flushing, N.Y.

* I enjoyed your issue on statistics in sports (TSN, August 26). Here is another baseball stat that might be of interest to you: I've noticed if you take a team's total bases and divide it by the team's runs scored, you will find a strong correlation between the result and the team's position in the standings (the lower the number, the better).--Todd Moffett, Las Vegas

* I am surprised the SPORTING NEWS allowed Matt Hayes to make subtly racist comments by equating the heritage of a group of people to a tropical storm (TSN, August 26). If Hayes doesn't like the NCAA's edict, he should just say he doesn't like it. His backhanded style is cowardly and wrong.--Rob Guyette, De Pere, Wis.

* Matt Hayes is the most biased college football analyst today (TSN, August 19). Matt, why do you hate Texas so much? Mack Brown runs a solid, clean program, and we will win it all. I'm ashamed to share the same first name with you.--Matt Marshall, Seagoville, Texas
